Twenty-first Century Technology for Cardiac Patients — What’s Next?

 

 
The Twenty-first Century has brought with it major developments in the field of medical technology and Providence Little Company of Mary is continually bringing these new advances to our patients. The Vasek Polak Cardiovascular Institute provides complete technologically advanced cardiac services in a healing and safe environment.

 

 
We’ve maintained our leadership with the most advanced diagnostic equipment and treatment techniques available today. Our services range from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and rehabilitation.

A new portable ultrasound system designed to have the image quality of larger systems but small enough to be handcarried from bedside to bedside is being used in our Intensive Care Unit. Upgraded technology in our 4th Medical Cardiology Unit includes the GE Marquette centralized monitoring system as well as the Zettler call light system which allows for a quicker response to patient needs.

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance is proud to boast the only all digital cardiovascular X-ray imaging system in the South Bay. The GE Innova™ 2000 is designed to provide cardiologists with more information, resulting in better diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. It’s revolutionary image quality enables the visibility of hard-to-see blood vessels, stents, guidewires and catheters and provides less radiation exposure compared to conventional fluoroscopy systems.

Our Cardiology Department recently moved to the new Outpatient Diagnostic Center and now includes two dedicated rooms for stress treadmill tests, two rooms for Echo tests and two physician reading and interpretation stations.
