There is no need for re-treatment as long as the patient maintains abstinence
from the addictive substance.
Who can benefit from treatment with PROMETA?
PROMETA is designed for those diagnosed with dependence to alcohol, cocaine,
methamphetamine, or a combination of these drugs.
PROMETA may be appropriate at any stage of recovery, and may be appropriate for alcohol,
cocaine, or methamphetamine dependent patients if they are:

for the management of their dependence;

Disappointed with or have failed other treatment options;

Are unable to commit a month away from family or career
to participate in a traditional treatment program.

Are there any contraindications to treatment with PROMETA?
PROMETA is not designed for use with those diagnosed with dependence to opiates,
benzodiazepines or addictive substances other than alcohol or
stimulants.
Also, PROMETA should not be administered in women who are pregnant or planning to
become pregnant during the course of treatment, or to those on certain
medications.
Other prescribing restrictions may apply. It is up to the treating physician to decide
whether treatment with the medications administered as part of the PROMETA treatment
protocols are appropriate for any given patient.
What are the most common side effects associated with medical
treatment using PROMETA?
Some patients may experience transient headaches, injection site discomfort and/or anxiety.
Each patient should discuss possible side effects with the treating physician.
